We're Florida State University's flagship magazine on campus research and scholarship. Research in Review was launched in 1969 by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research, administered by Dean Robert M. Johnson, who later became FSU's first vice president for research. The founding editor was the late Clifton Paisley, also a noted scholar of North Florida history.
Today, the magazine is published by the Office of the Vice President for Research, administered by Kirby Kemper, vice president for research and Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor of Physics, with headquarters in the Westcott Administration Building.
Research in Review is the only regularly published FSU periodical whose editorial content is dedicated exclusively to academic endeavors. Our primary mission is to inform the public, lawmakers, granting agencies, university supporters and officials at other universities about Florida State's scholarly activity and its relevance to taxpayers, commerce and academe.
Over the years, Research in Review has won numerous top national and regional honors for excellence in writing, photography and design.
